Technological Killjoy

A good grandfather is always looking for opportunities to kindle his grandchildren’s imaginations. We have a neighbor like that.

One day, he invited a neighbor girl, about age 8, to ride with him and his granddaughter, age 3, down to the neighborhood park to play. They rode in his ATV.

He had a special, magnetized card to use at a swinging gate to allow the vehicle to pass into the park.

The long gate slowly opened.

“See? It’s magic!” the kindly grandfather said, whimsically, to the two girls.

“No, it’s not!” fired back the older girl in disdain. “It’s tech-NOL-ogy!”
